chalkboard wall. summer. too much fun.

It’s officially summer. The solstice has passed and summer is in full swing. I love it. No agenda. No places to be. A chance to just do things. That’s my favorite.

Our SUMMER chalkboard wall. A place where we fill our bucket. Do you have a summer bucket list too? Ours has started and our bucket is getting fuller by the day.

The theme for this month? Our summer bucket list. Things to do. No whining about being bored.

oh, hello bucket list.
I love bucket lists for two reasons.

{one.} If I write it down for all to see I am more likely to actually do it. I need that little bit of visual reinforcement.

{two.} My list and ideas have already been created. I just take a quick lookey-loo and a number of ideas come to mind about what we can do to fill the day. I don’t know if it is stage fright or mommy mind, but on the spot I can never come up with those brilliant ideas!

I am hoping I am not the only one who a few weeks into summer starts hearing, “i’m so bored. there’s nothing to do.” My summer chalkboard wall is going to solve that problem this time around.

Bored? Pick something on the wall and we will do it. Simple. No lack of ideas here.

Usually as summer is coming to an end I start to hear, “we didn’t do anything this summer. nothing fun.” You guessed it, my summer chalkboard wall is going to solve that problem too.

What? We didn’t do anything? Just look in that bucket and you will see all the amazing things we did to fill our summer. Not only a chance to see all we have done, but a chance to reflect on some fun memories.

This summer, I’ve got all my bases covered and the board looks cute too. What more could a girl ask for?

Want the {summer} chalkboard for yourself? Love the fancy fonts? Download the fonts for your own space or the bucket list template. It’s as easy as print, trace, retrace. Hello, gorgeous. Forgot how to trace? Look here for a quick tutorial. So simple. So cute.

Love the bucket list printable cards? Well, they can be yours too. The work has been done for and I had a little help along the way.

I found a bucket list created by U-Create Crafts that was the perfect starting point. A few modifications, but some fantastic ideas that cost little to nothing and can be done from home. Brilliant. And, one of my girlies, Melissa {aka the guru of  party planning} also put together a fabulous summer bucket list for a group of us mommies. I added a few of her amazing ideas as well so everyone could enjoy.

No, I did not have enough time in the day to also make some cute, original graphics, so I enlisted the help of an adorable lil’ gal at a blog called citrus and mint. She’s way too cute and had some adorable graphics that provided the perfect backdrop for our list of summer activities. You just might find some other treasures for yourself, so be sure to stop by her site.

And, remember a chalkboard is not needed. You can put your bucket list cards anywhere. On a wall. In a jar. On a few branches. Get creative. Have fun. Just think of it as a simple reminder of all the fun things to do this summer.

May your {july and august} have a whole lot of sunshine and smiles as you work your way through that summer bucket list. Time to play. Before we know it school will be starting again. Oh, boy.

try. enjoy. share.
