chalkboard wall. november. thankful.

Thanksgiving. This could be my favorite holiday of all. I love the smells, but mostly the way we are all inspired to look a little more deeply at our blessings. And, we are all so very blessed.

thankful: {adj}
feeling or expressing gratitude.

As we approach the upcoming season of food, family and blessings I hope that you are able to find a little place in your home where you can record some of your own blessings and thankful thoughts. My hope is that my children realize the the blessings they have and feel gratitude toward all that they are surrounded with. Yes, it will be a work in progress. But, we will start with our chalkboard wall.

A place where I’m hoping we will {see} all we are to be thankful for…

November Wall

The theme for this month? Be thankful. My other half and I have this unspoken rule that we started about nine years ago. We find {share} at least one thing {or more} we are thankful for about the other daily. It doesn’t have to be big, even thanking my sweet thing for taking out the garbage is showing gratitude in itself. It is easy to say thanks to someone, but do we ever reflect on what we have to be thankful for? A few things kept running through my mind as I dreamed up the November wall.

1. A verse. In all things give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. Psalm 107:1

 2. Be thankful. I think that is the most important thing we have to teach our kiddos. What are we thankful for? What blessings do we have that we take for granted?

I am hoping all month long we will reflect on this verse as we walk down the hall, leave to get to school or stroll by. My hope is that my kids will have this memorized by the end of the month. Yes, bribery might be an option, but I think that is what makes it fun. Right? Scripture Picture

To show our thankfulness I have created a place where we can write down the things we are each thankful for. My little man {4} started his own today. It just about melted my heart. We sat down and talked about what he is thankful for and the first thing he said was, “God”. Melting? I know. His flanks our new board proudly.

Do you have a place for something like this in your own home? I hope you will find someplace special where you too can count your blessings daily.

As I have shared before, I love my chalkboard wall. But, I I try to use things around the house to make my life easier, like my printer to replicate fonts that I am just not talented enough to master on my own. It truly is the best little trick ever. Want to know how?

How to Transfer a Font

So simple. If you are smitten with the font I used {pea lovey dovey} you can either download the already created template here. Or, if you just have to have that font for yourself. Download the font {pea lovey dovey} here. Think of it as a little something to be thankful for today!

I hope you will try a {chalkboard wall or frame} yourself.  And, use some or all of the elements above as inspiration. Show off what you are thankful. Oh, and did I  mention…

{If you missed it, learn how you can make your own {DIY Chalkboard and Magnetic Wall}. Take a quick peek {here} to find out just how easy it is to transform an empty space into something that will make you smile.}

try. enjoy. share.

    I love this! My boys need a wake up call to all the things they should be thankful for. They’re displaying a little too much ‘entitlement’ lately with their attitudes!
