diy personalized key art. just a key and some paint.

Do you ever have one of those moments when you continually stare at a wall and can not for the life of you decide what to do with it? Well, there is a random wall in our house that you look at each time you walk out the garage. I knew it needed a bunch of different pictures to pull it together, but I fully admit that I struggle with putting together gallery walls. I am way too symmetrical and they perplex me. I wish I had more of a ‘go with it’ style, but I don’t. Sadly.

But, my motto for this house is to try something new and different. I’m not looking to change my style, but I am trying to stretch myself a little. One wall at a time.

No, my gallery wall is not done. Boo. I will save that for another post when I find the last two {perfect} pieces. But, while running some errands I came up with a personalized art piece after stumbling upon a frame at a flea market. I am kind of smitten with it and hope you will be too.

It is another {5} art piece because you know that is what I love and what sums up our family, though I promise it looks a little different. If you missed my last {5} personalized wall art you can find it here. Otherwise, read on and maybe try it out for yourself.

Good news? Very few materials that you hopefully have in your craft stash.

{a few thoughts.}
I found my stencils online at shop called Maison De Stencils. Sorry folks, I got them a long time ago and they seem to have become very popular and a little more expensive.

The keys were a little treasure from World Market. You can find them here. You can buy them separately in the store for $7.99.

I used a natural colored linen fabric as my backing that I had in my extra fabric bin.

My paint color is called Wrought Iron by Folk Art, which I found at Michael’s.

 {what to do. oh so easy.}

finished key

It looks like a lot of steps, but I assure you it isn’t. It took me thirty minutes from start to finish. It’s personalized. Original. Cute. And, I think it is the perfect addition to our gallery wall, which you will see {someday}.

try. enjoy. share.
