five minutes. burlap magnets. so cute.

Our November chalkboard wall was updated earlier this week {if you missed it check it out here}, but as I was working on it I realized it needed a little somethin’,  somethin’. I seriously stared at the bottom half for about forever. Serious. No joke. It just needed a little charm and something to make it a bit more whimsical.

I stared. I browsed my craft store upstairs. I found.

Yep, there in my basket sat some large burlap ribbon, glue gun and magnets. What more does a girl need? Truly, a simple way to make some magnets look a lil’ more fall festive and cute. And, the best part is that it takes less than five minutes. Now, if burlap is not your style. No worries, any type of ribbon will work, however you will get a more ‘looped’ look than what you see below.

Whatever your style. Try. If you don’t lovey, it really only took about five minutes out of your day, so you can toss it in the garbage and rest easy.

Can you believe what you can accomplish in five minutes. Ta da! Do you love?

Materials

burlap roll
{you can find this in the wreath making section of craft stores or here}
scissors
hot glue gun
small magnets
{I used round}

step 1

Cut a strip of burlap roll
{approximately 15 inches}

step 2

Cut in half lengthwise.

step 3

Lay flat and cross sides leaving an opening in the center

step 4

Pinch the center at the base of your circular opening.

step 5

Pull the bottom pieces through the hole {partially} leaving some extra fabric at the bottom.

step 6

Pull the burlap tight and shape the center to achieve the look you want.
Trim bottom or stray pieces, depending again on the ‘look’ you’re going for.
Hello, gorgeous.

step 7

Flip bow over.
Place a substantial amount of hot glue in the center of the bow.

step 8

Add magnet and press securely.
Done. So, cute.

On my board, I cut bakers twine, doubled it and knotted the ends. I then used the magnets to hold the twine up and attached small clothespins and thankful cards. Truly, a project that really does only take about five minutes. Well, maybe even less than five minutes. I hope you take a few minutes out of your day to spice up a magnet or two for your home.
