ruffle garland. ruffle love.

Ruffles. I love them. If my other half would approve, I would have ruffles all over the house. Love them like I love a clean house or my morning latte. {translation = I really love them}

For the past few years I have used a burlap garland to wrap the tree. Still love. But I wanted to shake it up a little bit {why I do this to myself I will never know}. Anyhow, what I really wanted was a more ruffled look to complete the tree. So I grabbed a large threading needle, some twine and the burlap garland I have had for years. Result? Um, adorable. Now I look at the tree and smile in glee.

Now it’s true that once I started the project I thought to myself, “what am I doing?”. But, once I figured out a few tricks I got it done in no time. And, I sat on the couch and caught up on some Christmas movies {the cheesiest, if at possible} and ruffled it up. A simple way to add a little holiday whimsy to your tree. Do you love too?

I tell you the honest truth. This project is not hard. And, not all that time consuming once you get a system down. In fact, I whipped out this green {i used green so you could see the steps a little easier} ruffle in less than five minutes. Think of the possibilities. You could use this just about anywhere. Now, if a ruffle is not your thing I will not hold it against you. But, you should really give ruffles a chance. At least once in your life.

{oh, so simple steps}
For the record, it looks like a lot of steps, but that is ONLY because I wrote out every single move I made.
Call it detailed.

steps 7-10

steps 11-16

An easy way to add a little a twist on the traditional garland and to catch up on some Christmas movies. What could be better than a night enjoying the season and the beauty of ruffles? Am I right?

try. enjoy. share.

      I knew you would love. Ruffles are a girls best friend, well besides diamonds. 🙂
