happy heart day. play a little. laugh a little.

Happy Heart Day! Or, otherwise known as sweet ole’ Valentine’s Day! We started a tradition last year that has kind of stuck. Isn’t funny how something that you just randomly do ends up being something the kids love. And, then inevitably the things you work so hard to ‘create’ they are over before you even begun. Sigh. But, that is the story here.

It all started with Saint Valentine. Ok, not really, but at least I hooked you. Actually, it all started with Valentine’s Day last year. We started this new tradition we like to call {Heart Stacking Competition}. How to win? Stack your hearts the highest. It is so simple, but the kids seriously love it. In fact, we do it with our niece and nephew and they talk about up until the big day. It’s kind of cute. Last night? Well, the stacking competition night. So much fun.

{what you need}
box of conversation hearts for each person

{what you do}
stack the highest. you win.
our rule? has to hold for three seconds for it to count
when you’re done? eat.

1-i won

Ok, and before you dismiss this silly lil’ holiday post know that it is fun for the BIGS and LITTLES. Little Lulu who is less than two loved it this year! She was trying again and again to stack her little hearts. Adorable. And, I admit that even I get a little hooked on it. I seriously can’t stop. I swear, fun.

I’m sure you are on the edge of your seat wondering who the winner was. Well, a tie in fact. I thought I was the winner with 16 high {a little competitive much?}, but my 4th grade nephew spent two hours stacking and restacking his pile of hearts. He was determined to not let me beat him. Last year? Victory was his. This year? We settled with a tie. We both got 16 high, yo.  See? Fun.

Go out and buy some conversation hearts. Don’t talk. Boring. Stack. Way funner.

try. enjoy. share.
