happy mothers day. a thought or two.

Happy Mother’s Day. Special wishes to all the daughters, mommies, and grandmas out there. A day to celebrate you.

Do you ever read something and it instantly strikes a chord with you? You think about it. And then you keep thinking about it. Well, this might not strike the same chord for all of you, but I thought it was worth sharing. Sometimes we need a little focus to carry on through the days, weeks or even hours.

I was reading through my MOPS magazine while waiting to pick up Mr. G from school. They have started a new Hello, Darling series that is kind of adorable. I love their stories and this one melted my heart a little. Well, more than a little.

The quote that has stuck with me for the last week read, Imagine the person you want your child to become and be that person.

I thought about it all afternoon long and have since thought about it multiple times in the last week. In truth, this doesn’t just relate to my kids, but to every aspect of my life. What type of person|mom|wife|friend do I want to be?

Mother Article 2 pixlr

The author, Megan O’Leary, was so honest and truthful in her search for balance, something I, too, struggle with on a daily basis. Her list may not be my list of the type of mother I want to be, but it is a great reminder to start my own list. Or, better yet, make good on my list and BE that mother that I want to model for my kids.

What type of mother do you want to be? Maybe you too can start a list of your own and find some peace knowing that at times the art of “showing” our kids our hopes and goals for them is better than anything we could say to them.

Wishing you and your family many blessings this Mother’s Day.

love. enjoy. share.

Totally resonates with me… This same topic has been on my heart as I see some of the negative qualities my children have inherited.. From me! It is humbling… But thankfully not irreparable! Making my list this week!
